First Visit – it’s a corker!

6 07 2009

I got into the houseĀ (once I stepped over the forest of weeds growing from UNDER the front door step) and was greeted with the stink of old cigarette smoke, nice. Dark wood frames, dado rails throughout, ceiling fans from the colonial days and banks of speaker connections integrated into the walls….and that was just the entrance and the living room!

The place is big though, and structurally sound, has loads of potential to be made into a nice home and I can’t wait to get my teeth sunk into the whole thing. Was aiming for the coming weekend but the vendors solicitors are faffing around and delaying things – so much for them wanting a quick sale eh?!

Luckily, Jo (my brothers girlfriend) has volunteered to come round and clean the house as she loves cleaning when the place is ‘bonging’….young speak for ‘rather dirty’. She has her hands full, I think I counted 68 spiders and they were only the ones out in the open! Infested the place is. But hell, least there won’t be any flies or winged insects with all them spiders around! Not a fan of spiders, but hate those winged types, never can be sure where they end up.

Uhhh, oh yeah, this is a renovation and DIY blog – sorry peeps, I get side tracked now and again :)
